Pony Parade

27th May 2158

Moe seemed unfeasibly happy as they skirted their way past the hordes of teenage girls and the Pony Parade. They had decided to stock up on some supplies before hiring a skimmer to reach the El Dorado Distribution Depot, which for reasons not unconcerned with the high level of alcoholism on Skybo, was situated out in the wilderness. From here shuttles would put down from orbit, ready to haul their cargos offworld.

Skybo was also, it seemed, the centre of the Game subsidiary which developed something called My Little Pony – a range of cutesy horses which had appealed to generations of little girls and boys in toys, games, and even one notorious pornographic pastiche.

And this month was My Little Pony Anniversary Month, complete with events, parades, and of course lots of merchandising opportunities. Moe had taken to it like a duck to water. He was singing along now with the shrill voices of the teenyboppers.

“My Little Pony, My Little Pony
Ahh, ahh, ahh, ahhh…

I used to wonder what friendship could be

Until you all shared its magic with me

Big adventure

Tons of fun

A beautiful heart

Faithful and strong

Sharing kindness!

It’s an easy feat
And magic makes it all complete
You have my little ponies
Do you know you’re all my very best friends?

My Little Pony
My Little Pony
My Little Pony… friends……"

Clarissa gritted her teeth as Moe started all over again. And what was worse was that he had his pony figures in his utility belt, so no doubt they could look forward to days of him acting out various episodes, plus commentary. She cast a venomous glance at Chick who seemed oblivious as he swigged at a half bottle of Auld Kiltstripper.
